Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster’s Social Policy Framework Mental Health Working Group is offering free online suicide prevention training to help community members recognize warning signs, respond to someone in crisis and connect individuals with appropriate support.
The 90-minute, self-led digital course is designed to increase awareness and equip participants with practical skills to support someone who may be experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm. The training is delivered through LivingWorks and is hosted locally by Family Community Support Services (FCSS).
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion. Registration will open in batches of 50 participants, with a total of 200 licenses available. Once registered, participants will have 60 days to complete the course before their access code expires.

About the training
Participants will learn how to:
• recognize common warning signs that someone may be at risk of suicide;
• respond to a person in crisis using evidence-based approaches;
• connect individuals with appropriate supports and resources; and
• build confidence in having conversations about suicide prevention.
